Shipping A Shock From The USA
« on: May 10, 2011, 04:18:36 pm »
Can anybody tell me if there is a restriction on sending a rear shock from the US to Sydney by air? I have looked at the USPS site about restrictions on what can be sent, but i'm not a smart man, and certainly no scientist, so can't make heads or tails of it.
Can it be done, if so what needs to be done? I was thinking that maybe I could get the gas released and the valve removed from the resivoir ???.
It's a rear shock for a "92 YZ250 - if anyone has a really good one laying around i'd be interested. As long as the shaft is good as mine is rusty and pitted.

Cheers

I've bought plenty of shocks in no problem. Never had to let the gas out or do anything special.

Ditto, even had tanks with petrol still in them, not to mention half eaten burgers.

I know you can get some great savings from the States but your not doing our economy any favours by bringing in half eaten burgers.
I much prefer to get my half eaten burgers locally, thus supporting the local garbo’s who then don’t have such full bins to empty.
Although one should be conscious of putting everything back in the bin after your search.

I asked them to wrap the tank well, so they dumped the contents of their rubbish bin into the box for padding. WTF ??

There should be no problem, I've had works performance shocks sent Fedex.
