Yep, Oh yeah still jealous :-[
This is the only 79-80 TF1 I know of that has come to OZ.
Mike it wont sound the like mine, its not a rotary valve motor.
Paul do you have the 82 ADB test of the 347?
Cheers

No Noel, I don't have the test article. Would love a copy though. That's right Mike, the smaller engines are rotary disc and these are case reed and also carry a bit more flywheel weight. My 370 Canam has a nice power spread and it'll be interesting to see if there is any difference in the delivery.

Was watching the bikes going around the MX track at CD7 and Noels sounded completely different.
The sweetest sound you ever heard. :)
If it,s just the rotary valve then I must get my TS90 going.
Yer Rite. :)
It never sounded loke that.

Paul, somehow I missed this thread. What a great find! The 347 was said to be the best motor of them all. I know of a guy on NSW north coast who had one (quite a while ago) & loved it but it got stolen

Just a update pic. The project is still moving along. Had the fork sliders repaired now so I just need to get them painted along with a few other bits and 'Thunderbirds are go!'. Now, I just have to beat the chamber into submission, make a brake rod and cables, a wiring loom, decals, make footpeg assemblies, split the atom etc........... Well, it should be ready for HBBB at least...maybe even for 3 Bridges.
The condition of the finish of the engine is a pain but the thing has been rebuilt and not fired a shot. I hate to completely strip an engine just for paint. The stator cover is getting some fresh colour and I might try find some engine spray close in colour to give the rest a quick jam job :-\. One comment I got was the effect is the same as having a new suit but wearing old shoes. ;D

Sorry Noel, not this year - you know Mexicans wont travel (too many borders to cross)! You'll have to wave the flag for the marque.
