airshox on an RM125n/t

is anyone else running these and do they need offset split bushes to clear the chain?

The airshox canister is a larger diameter than the spring on the standard shocks, and I have to get some new split bushes anyway. Thor sells them in different sizes, offset or standard so I wanted to check before I ordered.

Paul, they fowl with the air box - remove air box bolt and put a couple of washers between frame and box. You will need to make up adog leg arm so the shock piston does not recieve chain rash ....make sure when the shock is compressed it clears  air box and cooling fins.

Cheers Stu, hadn't thought about the airbox. Did you use offset split bushes or just the standard ones with a washer as a spacer?

Home made jobs in lathe. But a few flat washers will do the same job.     See you on SUNDAY

Yes, fit a wider bush on the inside of the mount and a thinner one on the outside. If you space the shock over too far to the oustside the fins will rub the side cover too. So you need a combination of spacing the shock out wider plus the spacers inbetween the frame and air box which will pull the air box in away from the shock. I also know some guys use a heat gun on the air box to re-shape it a bit too.
