dont see how this thread had anything to do with the bikes at bathurst, or how it could possibly be a bad thing to bring an F1 car to bathurst for a demonstration?

anyhow.

Thanks for that Stevo geeezzzzuuuuus that made a V8 stupidcar look awfuly slow, considering they told Jenson to go easy through the Dipper , he was still going hard as he chirped the inside front into Forrest Elbow.

I'd swear he ran out of gears going both up & down the mountain, can't see that they would have had high enough ratios

jenson said he ran out of gearing coming down the mount, as this was his 2007 car that they had geared for melbourne (for promo laps i think they said)
he said with the right gearing, he could have gotten around 360kph instead of the 290 - 300 he got.

But he also said that the track is very very bumpy and that its hard to get the confidence to commit to the corners!
I ran around the mount yesty and there is marks all across the top where the car was bottoming out and dragging!

At 1 min; 10 secs you can hear four nice little blips of tyre and/or chassis skipping.

He didn't need to downshift in order to get up the hill - unlike my Yaris.

I often wonder what foreign drivers think, once they've seen this amazing track's hills and bottom-out
dips and humps.   With treacherous concrete liners on the corners.  And that killer downhill snaking bit.

What an amazing place.   And what a great idea, to fang an F1 around it!   (Singin' like a Honcho WFO!)

F1, in my opinion should be a fast track like bathurst, Avalon should be made into an F1 track, fast and long , there is plenty of land their,  Airport, over looking Corio Bay, it has it all, they could also have other venues, Vintage motoross track, modern motocross, speedway, F1 track could also be used for the V8, road racing, drag racing, Go Kart Track, also twin engine go kart racing or 360 engine go kart racing. WOW would that be a hoot. Airport could be made into an international Airport, mono rail from geelong pass the airport and onto Melbourne.
