I’ve just spent two hours polishing the spokes on my bike – is that wrong?

If they are zinc plated yes its wrong because you will polish off the plating and they will rust but if they are stainless then its Ok. Polish as much as you like. With stainless i prefer not to polish because then it keeps them more of a duller finish closer to the original zinc finish because when you polish them to a chrome mirror like finish, it gives too much or a blingy 'custom harley' kinda look and i think too much chrome or mirror finish parts doesnt look good on a dirt bike but thats just my opinion.

Of course not, it's just another lazy Sunday arvo in the mancave ;D. It's what we do. ;)
For what it's worth I've just spent five hours polishing thirty years of tarnish and rusty crud off my nickel plated Hindall frame. Having the radio on the Rabbitoes v Bulldogs game, a few Czech beers, no interuptions and finally seeing some results for my efforts made for a great Sunday. Bliss 8)
