Before moving to Victoria just over a year ago I was a very active member of the DSMRA in Townsville. Recently one of the other Townsville members has started working with the organisation at a national level and contacted me asking if I would be interested in starting a branch in Melbourne. Rides would be organised on a graded system and run with the normal sweep etc generally with limited numbers, joining the DSMRA is a requirement (annual renewal) which covers you for insurance etc. All bikes must be registered and there are certain rules ect that must be followed that promote a positive perception of our sport. We also had access in Townsville to areas that were otherwise of limits but this would take time down here. As I cant do this myself I am calling for any interested parties to send me an email and we will go from there. Older bikes are welcome as long as riders are happy to take them, we could also organise rides specific to cater for this if interest was high enough. I am in the Eltham area in Melbourne. Ride locs will generally be within 2-3 hrs of Melb.
