1983 KX 500...re-listed
« on: March 05, 2011, 10:51:27 pm »
Obviously the market is not prepared to pay $ 9,000 and i am not prepared to take $ 5,000 so i think somewhere in between will get you what I and others believe to be the best example of this model to be found. I have had a lot of interest in this bike but as yet no cash has changed hands.Spares include new front and rear fenders and sidecovers ( still in plastic ) new 14 tooth countershaft sprocket and a swingarm.

I only listed it to fund a trailer purchase and buy a 250...I have now got a trailer but would like a 250.I will consider a part payment of a 250 or a swap for a 250 in same condition ( read perfect )

Buy it, trade it or swap it... Please no comments....we`ve all heard them

Ted I do like your work.
I can see how a bike like this could owe you allot of money but that dosen't mean people will pay it.
My current project a 77 KTM 250 will end up owing me somewhere around 6k before it's finished and seeing how I do almost all the work myself and have access to a free sandblaster and paint shop, my own tig welder etc. I hate to think how much it would have cost if I had to pay someone to do it for me. But it will be as new when finished.
Good luck getting most of your money back.
Current bikes. KTM MC 250 77 Husky CR 360 77, Husky 82 420 Auto Bitsa XR 200 project. Dont need a pickle just need to ride my motorcickle

It's a little known fact, but in this current version of True Grit, Jeff Bridges isn't actually riding a horse, but an '83 KX500 with hair glued on it. True story.

I have decided to WITHDRAW this bike from sale

I only listed it in the first place to fund a trailer and purchase a 250. Now i have a trailer i will look for a 250

Thanks to everyone that showed genuine interest.

After all, how many of these things are out there in this condition

Cheers
