I had to have a bit of a guess at jetting as I swapped the carb from a 38mm TMX to a 38mm PWK it starts first or second kick when warm and idles fine but it seems a bit smokey and fells rich on the pilot also the idle screw is almost screwed in all the way which seems strange but this is my first go at 2t jetting so any input is welcome my carb specs are as follows
48 pilot
175 main
55 slide
1370 neadle 3rd clip
as far as I can tell a 70 slide is the way to go but I'll see how goes when I can ride it.

I was getting into to a similar thing with my TSX250 keeping it with the pre'85 regs but I need (still hunting) another frame to modify so I can fit a smaller RM125E tank instead of the fairly large steel stocker. I wish to keep the stock frame intact just incase it goes back to original one day ;)



not sure if you have any literature on the RMX but here's the Aug '89 Trail and Track test where it was highly regarded.

WMC do a search on thumpertalk.com in the offroad-suzuki-2stroke-section.
There are a few blokes that have done the PK conversion that may be able to steer you in the right direction and love their RMX's.
I have come so close a few times in wanting to get an RMX250 and still do have a look,but i struggle to ride 1 bike let alone 3 or so on the go.
Its never off my "want" list though

That TS is coming along nicely a mate had one years ago and loved it. Pre85 and road legal too I should have considered one of those as well what are they like for parts?  and ta Mario i've been all over the net looking for jetting specs for PWKs and they vary big time so i've sort of split the difference! there good bikes but watch out for dogey power valves and frame rot if you get one the good thing about them is that it's tamed rm250 so you can set them up to be as mild or wild as you want :)

83, you can pickup the TSX's dirt cheap, $100 for a basketcase, $200-$300 for real roughies that were running last time they wuz riddin ::), about 600 to 1000 for reasonable to good running riders with no reg and anything over that price would want to be pretty decent and/or registered with all the bells and whistles in working condition ;) Frames break above the swingarm pivot which isn't a good thing. This is easily sorted with a little strengthening but otherwise you don't seem to hear of many problems with them.

Thanks Zorros. I actually have a frame identical to that one because I didn't realize there were 2 types :-\ the one I need is the semi double cradle for the centre port engine :) appears from the blackened look and extra lumps the egay frame may also have been a bit snappy :P not unusual

I am after a ts250x front end but mainly the front wheel would get me out of trouble though.

That rmx is looking sweet I saw one at bonnie doon last week thought about asking if it was for sale I want the gt80 next door though. :)
