Hello, new to the forum and from Southern California

Hi.  I'm new to the forum and currently working on my 1st restoration; it's a '76 YZ400C.  I picked it up in a salvage yard in '99 for $200 and did about 70% of the work right away with going through the engine/frame/shock/forks/wheels but the project got sidelined and put in storage until last month.  Now I'm back at it and noticed 2 things about finding parts for the bike; 1) the internet! so much easier than outdated microfiche and phone calls and 2) holy cow have prices gone up?!  Crazy what shops are asking for NOS now. 

Here's a picture of the old girl.  I'm looking forward to kicking it over soon.

Us aussies guys just LLLLove vmx guys in the US, especially those in SoCa..........l even more so if they have room in there shed or live real close to the docks at long beach.....  ooooor and have a bike trailer,......  ooooohh and have a post office just around the corner.......... and.................

Thanks guys; yeah I've spent the last week reading threads here and there's a huge amount of info.  Good stuff.  And freakshow; yeah 20min from Long Beach, no trailer but a truck, and plenty of PO's around.  I've done a good bit of domestic shipping with eBay & such but never dealt with customs or overseas shipping.  But if someone knows what they need and needs a little help over here to get it over there I'm open to helping the community, for sure.

Welcome aboard Ryan. The 400c is one of my favourite models. As well as being one of the hot ticket open classers of the era, they look just right in my opinion.
Wherabouts do you live in So-Cal mate? I spent a few years living in Lakewood and then went up market and moved to Belmont Shore where I ran a little bar. I really enjoyed my time in Southern California and will be dropping in to visit my old pals sometime next year. There are a few American members here, all good people. Don't be afraid to drop in on any of the discussions that come up, it's nice to get a 'foreign' perspective.
