Early Tenere fuel tanks
« on: November 21, 2010, 06:57:25 pm »
I have a 1983 XT600 Tenere and the fuel tank has a single fuel tap on the LH side of the tank. The other day while at the mates place, I saw that he had what looks like a early Tenere tank hanging from the rafters in his shed but it had fuel taps on both sides. Does anyone out there know when they went to the twin fuel taps, and whether they will fit straight onto the '83 model. I ask as my tank is slightly the worst for wear, and has reasonable 6 dents in it. This other tank although dented is in slightly better condition and will allow me to keep my bike on the road/track while the original is repaired.

Why do things the easy way, when with a bit of effort you can really make it difficult for yourself!!

you could always cut another one in. ;)

There is not a huge advantage in two taps any way is there?
