Is this guy a legend or what?! I seem to recall reading another article about him in VMX a while back, where he'd ridden the Frontera in some other rally in Africa...

I'll see if I can get a translatation of some of the text.

I'll definitely be watching out for him when the Dakar's on.

I've taken a few liberties with the free translation:

After years pursuing this goal, at last a Bultaco will take part in the next Rally Dakar in 2011 which will again be held in Argentina and Chile.

The rider, Ignacio Chivite from Barcelona, has put in years of effort and sacrifice, and a lot of preparation has gone into ensuring his 1978 Bultaco Frontera 370 is ready for the Dakar Rally.

Previously Ignacio Chivite has ridden his Bultaco in the Pyramids Rally (Egypt 2007) finishing first in the Historic category. He’s also finished fourth in the Classic class of the Heroes Legend Rally (Paris-Dakar' 08), and first in the Classic class in the 24 hours of Moiá.

There was something about Spanish bikes in previous Dakars, but I couldn't figure out the exact meaning, so I left it out...

I've read a story on this guy and seen some footage somewhere. Definitely a legend  8). I seem to remember from the story he did an engine rebuild in one event and went on to finish with his main issue being fuel consumption. Would be great to read his whole story. I hope he proves that the Spanish bikes are very much under estimated  ;)
