I don't normally look for footage of stuff like this because it cuts pretty close to the bone for me, but this is the most bizarre Speedway crash I've ever seen.
It makes you appreciate that racing in OZ is regulated, how it was approved to race on this track is beyond me but coming from behind the Iron Curtain I'm not surprized.
Not for the faint hearted.

i too saw that some time back while trolling utube. its gut wrenching to view.

if you look at the first few frames it says Vienna Austria 1956, safety was not a concern back then.

You're not wrong Hoony, Stomach Churning.
I didn't study it too much because I felt sick, I only watched it a couple of times to see if it was a fake and I didn't notice where it was from or when, I thought it was a bit later than 56.
I probably made a mistake putting it on here and this might be the perfect example of a thread that won't create a kerfufel if removed.
