Now that is what true vintage motocross is about. With a tidy up this could be a cool Classic Dirt bike.

How cool. If I wasn't so tied down with projects I'd bid on this baby. I have a hunch that this bike would have some interesting race history if it could be traced. Some serious engineering has gone into it about 50 years ago. I wouldn't restore it or bling it up if it was mine. I'd just tidy it up, get it going properly let it tell it's own story by its patina. If the pre 60 class still existed it'd be a front runner.

yep front it up as is to scruteenering no prob s just keep your foot away from the primary drive and you would be laughing  these are the sortsa bike we use to get off the old  ochardist  near were i grew up  i had a bsa 500 b33 as a paddiock bike when i was a kid   it was nothing to see 3 kids on it at once  /we need that many to push start it

I've just been speaking to a well known pre 65 guru and he reckons that bike is a much better pre 65 race prospect than the AJS and Matchless listed on eBay. The Norton ES2 engine alone is worth the current money or more. This is as close to a Manx Norton scrambler as a poor boy can get and with the right rider ( i.e., a veeeerrry strong bloke!) would be fairly competitive in pre 65.
