Hey Steve/Alison, is it a 1980 400 Qualifier? I have one that I will eventually turn into a 400MX6.

It is a 1980 Qualifier 400. Nice condition too by the look of the pic if it is the one you are buying. Is it the bike located in Qld? What sort of info are you after?
WANTED. Canams;all models,complete or parts.SWM stuff too!

I have one of these too, 1981 qualifier 400, just recently pieced it together from a box of bits, am very impressed with it so far, just a few annoying issues to sort out.
Just how many of these are here in Australia?

I have a '79 Qual 2 400 sleeved back to 370 (to keep it legal as a pre 80 mount - don't ask!). I've had 2 400's pass through my hands over the years - one has gone to spare parts heaven and I don't know about the other. There are some major differences chassis-wise between the 79 and 80/81 models. Not bad bikes.

Its a pre85 project,picked up today.
Its all there but in box's etc.Frames newly painted, tank & plastic a bit faded needs new decals.Motor looks like it could dig some trench's.
I got to snavel the below pic and then left them to it, more bike prep for the 15th Anniversary.

Can ams rarely come up for sale so it's hard to estimate a price.  Rarer than Maico's but.  Personally I would pay $2,000 for it without blinking.
