1974 Husqvarna 400 CR - SOLD
« on: August 16, 2010, 07:36:26 am »
1974 Husqvarna 400 CR mint condition VMX racer. Fully restored from ground up, full engine and transmission rebuild, fitted with Pro-fab alloy triple clamps, Mikuni carb and reed valve conversion, nickel plated modified exhaust, unmarked tank, alloy footpegs, new plastics, excel rims, Works shocks, Pro-taper bars, chrome parts. Has done 2 meetings since build up. Ready to race. This bike is more than I need at present (in terms of number of projects and as a racer) so would rather see it out there doing what it is intended for. Price at $6000 is well below what has been spent.

Go on ..... you know you want it - treat yourself, buy the best.

Call 0427 102 690 and leave a message if I am not answering.

Guys,
The bike is located in Perth. I purchased it when I was working in the USA and bought it home with me. It raced twice over there but I have found I do not have the time to race here.
Thanks

Yep, very pretty bike. Hope the new owner brings it out for a play.  ;D

1. Is the tank a WR unit?
or 2. Did the 400 come with a wider one than the 250.
Or 3. Am I dreaming again...............  ::)

Sold to a WA racer - he realised his Honda just did not float his boat anymore. She is made to race and that is what he is going to do with it.

The old boy and I were standing around it over a beer the other night wondering the same question about the tank .
The gas cap is in the center and the seem down the center of the tank is smoothed out .width and mounts are in the same style as the other 73 74 era 400 CRs we have .maybe aftermarket ???maybe WR ???
either way congrats on stealing the beast ,Glad its not us putting the first dents in it . :P    Boots

Gents, that is how a "proper" 1974 400 tank is supposed to be..steel and with the cap in the centre..only the alloy tanks have the cap off to the right.. really don't like that pipe tho....just not in the spirit of the era.. ???

I race of of these bikes and they are a great bike to own.
This is a fine example, but I have to agree with Watto about the pipe.
By not having the standard leg burner it loses some of its Husqvarnaness.
