KTM 350 info needed

a mate has been offered the bike for $2500, i can't find a pic anywhere to post
the pic he has is on a phone, has red frame and number plates on the sides of rear gaurd, so early 80's???????
the story goes only 6 came into the country
what he needs to know is are they good, bad or stay the hell away ;D any thing to look out for
 bike looks to be in good nick but only a phone pic to go by
any help would be appreciated

engine number, frame number, single shock, twin shock, air cooled, water cooled

the first number on the engine number will probably identify the yr of manufacture next if 1981 model 1 followed by 56

yer ktm were cleaver like that.......... year, capacity and so on right on the bike.

I think they are pretty cool, I had 88/89 350s and both of them were awesome/
