Mexican Heading North
« on: July 25, 2010, 02:23:51 pm »
Can anyone from the Queensland fraternity give us a phone no or Contact regarding VMX in Queensland. Our son Shaun Baker is moving up to Brissy a place called Alexandra Hills later in the year for a business opportunity & would like to get into racing. Will be bringing an 81 490. Any info would be great.

or,

an 81 490 would be welcome at either of these clubs.

g'day ken, if that's an '81 465 he's bringing up then it's all good at nudgee, but if it's actually an '82 490 then i don't think BMCC will allow a rear linkage on nudgee track so he'll be limited to QVMX only with that bike

Thanks to all the Qld guys for the information.

Hilly, an old chinese proverb; nerer say nerer  :D  Just as a matter of interest, we had a land rat look at our pile of sticks the other day & bugger me, got a big offer immediately, Velly interesting  ;D Would find it hard to leave Victoria with such a strong VMX scene down here, but as you know, we are close to our sons, 1 down here & 1 up there would be very hard.

How many tracks & what sort of distances do you travel to go racing in Qld & do you drop down into NSW to race  ???

We have 7 tracks at the moment split between the 2 clubs. All are within 1 1/2 hours drive from Brissy. This year there are 17 meetings to choose from. We race March to November. Believe it or not.....it aint cold in Winter here....VMX heaven. ;D Today its 22 degrees....shorts and T/shirt. Have a nice day. ;D

I have heard he is pretty quick.. does he also ride a modern? We have the 5 round Thunder X series for modern bikes with an Evo/pre '85 class on natural terrain grass tracks, a few of us do these also.
