Old school tyre

G'day viewers I'm building a late 60s to early 70s four stroke bike and I want it to look as if it came from then. ::)  it will be used and abused in VMX. Vinduro. Bush Hack. and something for you lot to laugh at. its on the middle side of CCs and its for a 18 rear what tyre do I put on this thing  :-\  jimson

pirelli MT53 or them goodyear/dunlops still make a period trail pattern with the funky zig zag road tread.

Yokohama Super Digger if you can find one.
Knobs all the way to the rim.
Bit hard to put on though. :)

The tyre all my contempories used in the '60s for just about everything was the goodyear grasshopper. Except for using at Moorebank you had to find a proper nobbly. Dont remember seeing an 18" though. cheers pancho.

an old Treleborg might be the go Garry..they've been around forever. A challenge to fit but eh, Treleborg's are usually replaced well before they wear out :D

Boy, have I got the tyre for you Garry. A Nitto 450 x 18 that's seen duty on my DT1, Billy Browns Montesa GP and one ride on my mates 490 Maico. It's about 20 years old and is still as supple as a coffee table. I'll give it to you when you come to pick up the DT2 frame and tank.
