New vmx rider questions
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:14:20 pm »
Hi,

I have been riding dirt track for years and am now going to give pre 78 a go
I have a few questions

*Can I use my existing number 39 or do i have to get a new number?
*What letter do i need to place in front of number is it X?
*Can I be a member of say BMCC and ride club days at QVMX tracks or do i need to be a member of both?

sorry if these are obvious questions but i dont have a current MA rule book and dont want to step on any ones toes showing up with the same number.

Thanks Brian.

Brian - the latest rules, regs etc including what letter applies to what class are available on the MA web site.  Number will depend upon wether it is already taken in the club you join?

cheers

1. Use your existing number. You would be unlucky to have the same as another in your class.
2. Z is pre 78
3. You have to join both.

You will be asked to join the club on the day most likely (sometimes half fee if late in season) $40 for QVMX I think.  Can buy a one day race license on the day also.  Then your set to go for a day of fun  :D

Hi, Brian,
Welcome, if you want to use that race number for Classic MX just ring  MAQ to see if it is available (when you apply for a competition licence), If no one has it registered for use then  its all yours,
cheers

Hi Oldskool,
Nudgee only allows Evo bikes and down on the track.
That is typically 1981 bikes.
