Update
Thanks guys for support, i have now established a role in the Dirt track advisory committee.
As advisers to MA we put together proposals from the riders , clubs, tracks and members for approval to MA.
NOT every thing gets approved but like a woodpecker at a tree if continue to peck long enough eventually the tree falls and we get our way.
We are presently setting up email addresses etc for ease of communication.

I give merit to The Fossil and his lovely wife for their previous commitment and support to the sport.
They are on my number 1 speed dial encase of emergency, 000 is number 2 speed dial.

Thanks guys, back to you soon, and
have a great weekend.
Matt Saggus

Hi all
I want to post this here as i know there are a lot of people who have been around the traps for a while.

Have you noticed the political side of the sport has been largely taken over by junior parents who have never even thrown a leg.
When they get a bit of authority they start with the "its to hard" or "racing is so dangerous lets incorporate higher restrictions and make it 100% cotton wool safe"
Well i say "hello" its motor bike racing, its competitive, it teaches hard facts, if you stuff up it hurts.
If they don't want to race, get in the dirt and have fun with risk then go play chess or become a xbox legend.

This is a great sport to be into, i like to see safe venues of course, close racing and end of day stories of how we "gunna" beat our personal best next time.

I had heard of two great people who got of a raw deal on the D,track side of politics and im not a happy camper.
Call me a fired up red head some times but i do have respect for those who deserve it.

Even the bloody railway used to give a lousy Watch to people for long service.

People who have devoted so much to the sport deserve better.

I have put my name in to MNSW to represent the dirt track riders of new south wales.

I agree that a lot of the long existing rules are fine and some need tweaking, im not solely for sliders, chookies, quads, sidecars or vintage to name a few, im for the lot and whats good fun racing, if its a bike lets ride it.

As E.Muller said in interview of the 1981 world speedway final at Wembley "i will do my best"

Give me a leg in the door by sending an email to MNSW nominating Matt Saggus for chairperson of the dirt track committee.

Send it to:

[email protected]

Attention Daniel
I would like to nominate Matt Saggus for chairperson of the dirt track committee.

Regards ...

I admire your enthusiasm Matt & you have my support.
Someone with a background of riding Sliders can only help.

I don't think we have met Matt but you sound sensible, you have my nomination. We don't need a bunch of bullshit hangin of our bikes, wrist or wrapped round our neck. Can you repeal that stupid back-protector?, gives me the shits.

Sorry Pete I have to disagree, anything that can help protect an old fart from self harm is fine by me.
When I was having my brief flirtation with Speedway it was when Back Protectors were becoming common use and if I could buy a Helmet with arm holes I'd feel a lot more comfortable about throwing the leg again.
In all honesty I'm shitting myself about racing again but don't want to be seen as a " Gunna " so it'll happen. Soon I promise.

Saturday we had a MNSW meeting,

And last Sunday i had to go to a junior coaching thing so i couldn't make it.

My aim is to try and let the dirt track commission know whats sensible and not.

Whats practical and not.

The days should cater for all riders,
Ride your million dollar rocket hard
or
Cruise on the pride and joy
Whatever it is just enjoy it without any problems.

Cheers Matt.

Thanks jim,its good they know im serious about this,
a while ago i had enough of the rubbish and was going to buy a go cart,
but i cant just walk away from the good ol'e days you know.
Of course we need it modernized but there is no reason for them to fix whats not broken.

Thanks again
Matt
