Monza Club Tri-challenge 16 MAY 10
« on: May 10, 2010, 05:33:32 pm »
Ballarat Rovers are hosting the first round of a tri-series against Sporting MCC and Colac MCC this Sunday at Monza Park.
It'd be a good ride for anyone who's at a loss after the cancellation of the Viper round for that weekend. You have to be a member of one of the above clubs and Jacko (The President of Rovers) says you can join the club on the day. 50 bucks is well worth it as they run some pretty good "clubbies" and other stuff at this top track.
He also says that if we get enough "Good 'ol boys" (VMX bikes) they'll run a seperate class for them so I'll take the 465 along just in case.
Of course there'll be Veteran, open and all the other usual classes.

Should be a good day...... ;)

Oh sorry. Just turn up on the day as far as I know (but I'll check) pay your money, race! ;)
As I said earlier, you have to be a member of one of the three clubs however you can join on the day...

Just to clarrify. To join the Rovers it is $60 for a single or $80 for a family. Also there is a once off $10 nomination fee. If you were to do this Sunday you will be able to race that day but will need to come to the clubrooms one Thursday night (Not the last one of the month, it's a social night) to be officially welcomed into the club before you can take part in another Rover's event. (MX, PonyX, practice etc.) Better still come this Thursday night, join & be welcomed in all at once. You will then be eligable to ride the other 2 rounds as well. We have discussed One Day Memberships in the past but at this stage we dont offer them. Sign in and entry ($20 unless otherwise told) on the day from 8am, practice hopefully from 9am.

There will be an EVO class & maybe incorparate Pre85 into it but because of the short notice this hasn't been finalized. You can also ride your VMX bikes in the Modern classes, Open, Lites or Vets, numbers permitting. As we have no idea on numbers for the VMX class it will be 1st in best dressed but as we now have a 40 gate grid it shouldn't be a problem. The only thing will be modern bikes will get first preferrence in the modern classes but again, I dont see it being a problem.

There will be camping Saturday night, free of charge and full canteen facilities Sunday. More info ring Perko 0427 334186

There is a bit of politics happening between Sporting & Geelong.
Just to let you know we (The Rovers) had no part in it.
Inocent bystanders.

What a grouse day! I had three hard fought battles with a (very fast) girl on a 250F in the Vets/Girls class and the 465 held it's own in the C grade open class. The track was just fantastic! Many thanks to Perko for giving me the fuel which allowed me to beat him in the last race. Ta! ;D
