I am looking for a good vintage enduro mount and was wondering did we get MR series here or just the MT series Honda's??

A mate of mine bought one of the first MR175s in Qld, he raced it in a few enduros at the time. I liked it - steered really nice but was a bit short on suspension. I remember thinking it was a top looking machine. Another mate has a couple of them that he's restored. You still find the odd one around, in fact I am sure I saw an advert for one quite recently somewhere?

Only the '77 MR175 was brought out here and none of the 250's.
The '77 had red tank, guards and a CR style red side cover.

Was an article Written by Ray Ryan about MR 250. VMX#16
It says  Honda dealers in Aust got MR 25O Kits to sell to CR owners,
The MR175 was based on the CR125 some parts interchangeable

Cheers

......No, the MR was a bored out MT125, but the rod and barrel were different. Some CR ignitions and gears are interchangeable, a CR complete 6 speed cluster will fit.

MR used '77 CR frame with modified rear loop ; mostly M1 & M2 Elsinore wheels and stuff ; big tank, big seat ; MT up pipe with longer neck ; minimal headlight/ taillight ;no oil injection; 175 had its own rod, barrel and stud pattern - not interchangeable. Very light, reasonable quick but very small, low bike.
Mines in a '77 CR frame, XR 500 twin leading shoe front wheel, CR forks and swingarm, modified CR seat (to fit big tank )... makes it just tall enough for me to ride.....6'4"  ;D ;D
