Michael, I know of a couple of methods of pulling dents, pressure & heat plus making a little bridge puller.

Do you know of any easy/ good methods?

Mate I nearly called you about the PE400 but I got it to WA and I am happy with its condition, needs work but that’s to be expected. Thinking of licensing the bike, recon it would be a hoot riding it to work. When I picked up the bike I spotted two guys 40 plus in a HQ ute, expression said it all, they knew what it was and there looks of man an old PE. Priceless, I didn’t see the expressions after wards. Probably ?? what the F#

Hydraulic clutch is a nice touch, have one on my 84 500 and is a dream to use.

  The good old PE looks I was riding near Narborthong and there was a heap of new ktm's on the side of the road they obviously heard me coming I could tell they didnt know what it was but they knew it was a big 2 stroke when I get them done I will have them all on the trailer somemany people already spin there heads when they see them it is fun to ride too last week I was at Bonnie Doon and mucking around doing mono's my stock 400t was doing them in every gear. But then I rode a xr250 for a while no guts at all got back on the PE and nearly killed myself Just that one bike that I really like if I found more I would own more no doubt.

Pete the pipe looks good any way if it is a racer dings are always going to happen I would probably drill a small hole on the weld that is already there and make a right angled puller heat it up with the oxy and pull it out with pressure you have to get plugs etc etc it is a pain.

 The bike is looking great Pete careful when you go to start that 400 put boots on riding boots if you do it runners or just work boots you stand a good chance of a big scrape up you leg trust me I have done it more than once and it hurts thanks Michael.

Cheers frosty, keen to get the PE going but must finish this project first. I know what you mean about kick starting with boots on the CR is nasty for killing, legs boots or what ever.

The bike is looking very good now. not to far to go at all.

I wouldnt warn you about the pe if I didnt have a few bits of bark missing more than once it is a specially bad bike for that every thing else is great about it the thing is it tends to do it the one time you dont wear boots you think it will fire into life first kick so I will just keep my runners or work boots on I am glad I have grown a bit more I can start it with my left foot on the ground and sitting down.

I wouldnt mind a cr500 one day my friend has a yz100 with a dg head it has had different forks and rear suspension it sits higher than the pe400 although not a fan of much bikes under 250. keep up the good work thanks Michael.
