another new old rider
« on: April 29, 2010, 11:38:33 am »
Hi all
I've been lurking on the guest list now for about 5 months.
I came across this site around the time I found out Bruce was crook.
I started in Merrylands dmcc with him and raced till I was broken.
Still love to ride but only have road bike at the moment.
Have recently joined Penrith mcc and hope to be racing again before the charity day.
I 'll pop in & out through out the day while the boss isn't looking.

Curly
Might already know you as I know Carl through the Lanham family and also done my trade (mechanic) at a shop on chapel rd bankstown from 1976. Ring a bell?

Wally
There were still a few old guys at Merrylands when I joined around 74.
Your name is familiar but its been such a long time.

I'm still looking for a bike to race but have limited funds.
I check ebay for baskets and bargains so hope to find something soon.

ps
Curly
I recall one of your early thread comments that your boy was in canterbury hospital.
The nurses in emergency there knew my son by first name we got embarresed and set up a roster to go to different hospitals after each injury.

Wow Dok, if you did your trade as a bike mechanic that would've been for Charlie Green & Ian Cork in dads old shop, he sold it to them in 75 I think.
The Lanhams are actually cousins of ours.
See you round no doubt.
