197 Villiers
« on: February 13, 2010, 06:41:45 pm »
Wanted, a pre70 197 villiers powered bike, eg a James or the like.  I want to make up a copy of the one I used to race in the mid60s.  It was a James Captain, from memory.  Swing arm model, with a 3 speed box bolted on to a 197 Villiers ported for Go-cart racing.  It ran a megaphone exhaust, so I'll have to get around that bit, but If I can, it will be good to get another pre70, especially a 2stroke, which are pretty rare.
Are there any out there?

Mike

Definately for VMX.  If of all the classic enthusiasts in Australia, 20 manage to source & set up a bike in pre60, and if half can get to the nats, we've got an all powers class.  And preserved a little bit of history.
If we can find a bike.
Cheers, Mike
