Small end bearing spacer??

I need to put a spacer/washer on piston pin between bearing and piston.What type is best to use(Thrust,hardened steel....
) Also how much gap should there be between bearing/piston

Do you have a lathe
? if so buy a grade 8.8 bolt with a large head ....turn it down to right OD and ID and start parting off to correct thickness.
