Are these Montesas any good
« on: March 12, 2010, 12:12:09 am »
Just curious I suppose, and knowing absolutely sweet fa about Monty’s, except that 1974 Phantoms are very fast.
I just have to ask. Are these bikes able to be used or converted or cannibalised  to a pre75 VMX mount? Or is it’s only possible use as an early vinduro? Or a pre78 flat tracker?

The 74 Phantom was an Ossa ::).

I think with LTR they would be post 75 VMX. Enduro fine, and with WR box perferred.

I've bought from this seller and I would not buy without viewing. I'm not bad mouthing just that you need to know exactly what you are getting.

He has put up several recently. I don't know where he's getting them, if he's a collector or a trader, or assembling them out of bits. But they look very dodgy in the engineering department - sexy fingers reign supreme ;) :P.

I would say the price is not outrageous but on the max. There's a lot non-original. I don't think the tank is right. I'll be corrected but I think it's King Scorpion.
