Yep, sure does look nice. Dunno why you sold it :) but is it still around anywhere? I've never seen it again.

The 250 was a non-complianced competition only one like the US DRs. Little headlight and taillight, less muffler etc. Pretty gutless but handled great. Much better to ride than say an XL/XR250 or whatever. Loved it, so easy to ride etc. But I bought a PE175Z because I just couldn't cope with the lack of go.

hmmm..looks like oldfart :P

very tidy DR500, it's complete, it's a runner..and, (it states!) ready to race!  8)

A simple straighten of zee rear brake stay would go a long way to making her look nicer and maybe give back a little adjustment on those rear brakes  ;)

An  in between project while I'm waiting on bits ,   DR 400 frame mark 2  stripped of all unwanted brackets plus new added for Rm side covers - steering stop - all welds ground back and TIG over  . Home sand blast frame and base coat the same day ;)
First shot is frame drying for 2 weeks  ...2 pack black  1  light coat ... at home   
further updates to come
Motor still in development stages  :) undecided   Sp 370  or  Dr 400

some states actually got those competition white DR 250's with compiance plates and they even had the PE blinkers on them. i kinda wouldnt mind one but yeah maybe a bit gutless.
Wanted - 1978 TS185 frame or frame&motor. Frame # TS1852-24007 up to TS1852-39022

Here is John Zordan's competition model DR250 when new, competing at a one-day at Canungra. Notice the Queensland road rego sticker under the headlight - ah, the wonders of living in Queensland.

Yes it was pretty gutless.

ah yes, QLD reg was easy..even saw an xs650 yam wasp outfit, XR75, a YZ125C and quite a few MX125's breeze through without much fuss and most running total loss :D

along with the reg I also notice the Rat shirt in good taste 8)

Nice to see a pic of the white DR250. They were a rarity too, but what a lovely bike to ride. In the tight stuff they were magic. Here's a couple of pics of mine, first at an enduro near Brooweena in 1982-ish, and secondly showing that even without power you could still wheelie them...

DR 250Z certainly are alot of fun, but a little gutless standard, where easly regestered in NZ which made them quite popular,myself and a mate race them our evo-lites class and after alot of work and a few failures we have them going much better.
They seem to shit ignitions but apart from that issue no major problems, maybe why I have 7 and only 3 with spark.
They turn up for sale often cheap as,if you want to make them go concentrate on compression and carb.
