. JAP Metisse:
As much as I love them, after a while Metisses all start to look pretty much the same as each other. T this bloke gets a pat on the back for doing it a bit different. I'm surprised the JAP engine fitted in there

Great bike Firko, the Jap always is one of my favorite engines because they look so raw.

japs fit in b33 bsa frames also matchless frames
i had a 84s in a goldy frame i used to road race in the 80s and my brother put 1 in a matchless frame for a no 1 plate weekend in the 70s 1 bike 3 races mx dirt track trials all at mt kembla,i had a tiger cub then

Beautiful engine, beautiful bike, needs to lose the bars though (picky bastard ;D)

hey Bazza, was that the white one...... was the frame Rickman or Spartan ??

No metalic blue. Not a Wanganui Spartan. metisse came from importer in Christchurch back in the day.They bought 2 JAP motors to go racing and 1 is still new in the box.

Hows this for a nice piece of kit. Wollongongs Graeme Bartholomew raced this Cotton Cobra fitted with a JAP 4b speedway engine in the sixties. As pretty as it is, Graeme reckons the bike was a pig to ride. If someone has a JAP engine they'd like to donate, I've got the Cotton!
