Gally comes to Fairbairn Park, Sunday 25 November 2007

For anyone interested in one last hit of racing before year's end, join in the ACT club's Bob Greenwood Memorial trophy event, which includes classes for Over 35s and Pre-85 bikes.  The twist this year is that Steven Gall is bringing 15 of Australia's top MX talent to race us, as a demonstration/practice race for them before they all troop off to the USA to try their luck in the Nationals and other races.

To accommodate them, the club is adding two half-hour races for them and other pros and A-graders, along with all the usual classes.  This gives you the chance to have three races per class plus you get to watch two Outdoor-style long Pro races, all for 35 measly bucks.  See www.actmcc.com.au for more info.

Went along for a look at this event today, and it looked pretty good. The track was great, the weather superb (tho a bit hot to begin with) and a great field of riders. The Riders To America race was brilliant, man those guys hammer. It was a pleasure to watch. Our Pre 85 stalwarts rolled up and put on a good display and the announcer got right behind them, giving them a good rap. Well worth watching. Mind you, I think it was a bit hot overall given the red sweating faces that came out from under those helmets. Quite a contrast to the fast young buggers whose hair was barely mussed even after a 30 minute moto. Bastards - youth on their side!

it was hot, but a bloody great day overall.  we all had a blast.  and gally's riders....mind boggling just how fast they went.  talk about demolish corners.  it just wouldn't pay to be a berm some days....

club presentation next, bit of bike repair/prep, then on with the '08 season!
