Bill,

Any chance of scanning or sending or some other IT trickery. Have started on a restoration. But I would like to know where I'm aiming. I can't see anything on the usual net spots.

Ah Yes, thanks for jogging the memory. Fernando, of course. I have reviewed my copy of an original Husky parts manual for the 1981 model. On page 28 it shows 2 different tank options for the 81 models. One is the older style `shoe box' type and the other is the taller `hump' style. Part Number 15 14 055-01 states it is the shoe box style and is painted red and belongs to the CR 125 1981. The WR 125 runs a light blue tank and the CR 250's ran a dark blue tank.....  Would Husky Parts have a photo of the red tank CR 125????  I really hope I'm right on this one Fernando....  I have an original 82 sales broucher and they show the CR 125 with a blue tank, but mine is the 81.  See how we go. All the best Pete

Bill,

You might just have won the bet for me with your short email. Some of my more learned (read - old) Husky collecting mates have argued the bike should have the blue tear drop style tank and not the older style red tank as it has. Fernando, are you reading this?????? You owe me a bottle of Fire Water....

I don' know how to stick a photo on the system. Maybe someone can help us...

Thanks Bill

Dear ECM,

The Husky 125 is well on the way to meeting it's first appointment for a race start in 29 years. As my son and I pulled it appart it became apparent how well preserved a bike can be covered in oil, red dust and living 2000km from the nearest water. Most bits, once cleaned, look just like they have been on the shelf of a bike shop for the same period of time. We are amazed. Status is - Frame power coated, bearings ordered, 98% of parts washed and ready for re-fit. Given a Paul Rooney (specialist Aust husky tuner) barrel which is engraved with his name and 4/82. Wild ports and super professional job. Needs a 2nd o/size piston. Rod mint, gears mint. Rider primed. Thanks for the help.
