I arrived home tonight from CD6 to recieve the sad news that our old Klub Kevlar member and Montesa legend Bill Brown is in hospital in a pretty bad way having a cancerous kidney removed. We were wondering why Bill wasn't at Conondale but knew he'd been a bit off colour lately. His wife Debbie told me that as soon as the results of last weeks scans came back this morning the specialist told him to waste no time and get straight to the hospital where he's to be operated on at 9am on Wednesday (tomorrow)morning.

Our old mate Billy Brown had a kidney removed in June and within a couple of months he was back racing his famous old orange Monty as if nothing had happened. He's back to being the life of every race meeting as I reckon Magoo will too. Ironically it was Browny who set the wheels turning to get Magoo into vintage racing about 10 years ago.

Great to hear that Magoo is on the mend.  :)

I guess I'll have to shout him a beer when he's ready for one (hopefully not too soon...)  ::)

Good to hear Magoose is on the mend.

But please spare a thought for the poor nurses that are looking after him. The will be long shifts indeed. They will know all his jokes by the end of the first day… God help them!!!

I can see the cold spoon on its way to Ward 3 as we speak…

I just got a call from Bruce and he sounded a bit sore and sorry but reports that he's doing OK. He's had a few complications such as a blood problem and difficulty in maintaining a reasonable body temperature but the important thing is that kidney is gone and he's now on the road to recovery. He apologised for not returning the many phonecalls but he's been too crook until now. He thanked everyone for your support and reckons he's a little embarrassed by all the fuss.   He's still in a fair bit of pain and is obviously groggy from the medication but the upside is that he's alive and on the road to recovery. It'll be a while before he's back to his annoying self but he'll get there. He'll be in hospital for at least another week, if not more.

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Just got off the phone to the big fella.

I am concerned for his health more than ever now? as in a 5 minute convo he did not call me short, fat or a bloody Queenslander once.

Im going to call the ambulance right now to have him dropped back off at hospital!!

 ;D ;D

Seriously, glad to hear you are on the mend mate, if still a little slower than you would like.
