Save emu creek
« on: January 14, 2010, 11:15:18 pm »
For quite a few years properly about five, my family and freinds have travelled at
least once a year to this magnificent park. Its not only a great place to camp but a
most enjoyable place to ride. Over this period we have got to know Blair and his
employees and can say they have made every stay most enjoyable. The team at Emu creek
have a strict set of guide lines that they expect each and every guest to follow and
very rarely, from my knowledge, do they have to address improprieties. Infrequently
sometime the minority spoils it for the majority, but we all know this happens in any
sport or even in life in general.
I'm asking the local council to please don't shut down this great park for the
stupidity of a few and  risk the enjoyment of many, most of all think of Blair and his
team who will no longer have work and rather than put money into the local comunity but
will be a burden on them.
I trust cool heads and sensible conclusion will evolve,

Reads like a place for all to spend some good quality time....Go for Gold hitatreeonce...
This is a crazy world and crazy times---don't ever give up  8)

Emu Creek extreme retreat is a hireable venue for events, of any sort that promotes healthy lifestyle that ordinary people can come and use on other weekends and periods. This has merged into training, product sales and advice and extras. We are an off road venue with a difference, for Power sports and other extreme sports. We are a private ecology park with sustainable management, somewhere you can come enjoy the bush and your sport that caters for you, and maintains the environment for you and your future generations. Being as the government cant maintain the forests and uses lock out policies, we choose to access, use and maintain for an overall better ecology. I would like to think every thing we do is for positive reasons, like getting kids away from TV, getting families out together, appreciation of nature and the world we have to live in, self empowerment, restful and much much more.
Best is in the West !!

I second that, haven't done any of the trails, just spent three solid days rotating around one of the best MX tracks in SEQ/ Northern NSW.

 :( Bummer.
After fraternising Rover and Manar Parks for the last couple of years, was going to go somewhere new, either Kenilworth or Emu Creek.
Got on their website for info, only to find the park was closed down.
Then read this thread.
I've only ever heard good reports from mates who've been there.Last thing needed is to lose another riding venue.

                                                 Cheers,Mark.

I used to drink a lot.
I still do,but I used to,too.

Sorry to hear about Emu Creek it was a really nice place with nice people running it but it sounds like the fun police have had another win. Our sport has pretty much been kicked out of the Gold Coast (along with most other forms of motorsport) but our incompetent and uncaring counsel next they will start complaining about "trailbike hoons" rideing illegaly to justify banning our sport altogether :-[
