What model?

Life is full of surprises.  Just uncovered another photo from the past and realised that I had completely forgotten a bike that I owned in the early 80's.  Can any-one help identify the model (year)?  Apologies for the limited view, but its the only record I can find of my owning the bike.

Front guard is 82 or before, also looks like red air intakes and lower down than the first water cooled bike, which would make it 82

I'll agree with Shane, it looks like an '82 250 by the front end.

They look like black number plates with white numbers. My guess is cr125 rc '82. They look like yz125's in the back ground too.

1982 doesn't sit well with me.  I have found reference to the race (1982 State Titles in Renmark).  I know I didn't buy a new model after 1978 (I have only ever owned 2 new race bikes in my life).  Generally I bought bikes that had been raced 1 - 2 years.  So it would have been either 80 or 81.  Can't remember having a water-cooled bike before 1987, so most probably the last twin-shock model ?  The front guard looks more 80 than 81 and I certainly would have remembered the unusual exhaust of the 81 model that I see on the internet sites.  Further discussion most welcome

You can't remember what bike that was Shit you owned it and by the looks raced it for a few years in or around 1982.
I would advise a visit to your G.P. see if they can't do something about that alhzeimers.

my eyes aren't the best but I don't think that is a radiator shroud but rather the "bulge" from a side panel going around a shockie ala 78/79 Honda CR250? Wouldn't be an 80 model because they moved the plate to the back asa for FIM and did away with the bulge?
