Thanks Tim, I don't actually have a pic of the cover but this is where it was living before it went on holidays ;) I have it on good authority that all of the twin shock DT100s/125s/175s, and twin shock MX100/125/175s used the same cover..

Many thanks for the offer, the scars will blend in very nicely Mick ;) will pm the addy pronto.

We can blame Husk72 (Mark) for coaxing me to the darkside by offering me this orphan but thanks a squillion anyway Mark. With a little imagination it could and will easily be a blowfly class contender ;D hmmm...wondering if the MX/YZ125 sidecovers will fit the DT frame..don't care about the mounts lining up so long as they fit..Nathan??..I can't imagine yes but just out of curiosity do the DT125 top ends bolt on? :P anyone??

Has two sections, first one over the maggy (I dont have a salvageable one >:() But do have part two, a sprocket cover. You want Doc? Tim
175 bolts onto 125 but not 125 on to the 100 I seem to remember.

Tim just the sprocket cover would a bonus as I never actually remembered they had a separate sprocket cover ::) many moons ago I had an MX175 engine in a YZ125C roller and a spare 125 for bits..as usual I now wished I'd never 'given' them away ::) I'd really love another YZ125C one day but I'll have to sell off something to buy one and choosing which bike to sell off is too difficult :'( Matt, if I had a spare IT175 you can bet I'd be trying to shoehorn it in somehow..only small bore I have that I don't have a home for at present is an RM100T motor. It's basically complete and ready to slot in but that would be sacrilege :D

If you are still in need of a mag cover in the new year I may be  able to help. I have the remains of two DT100A's at my mother's place, but that is 400km away. I will problably be going to see her over xmas/new year and will have a look in the shed to see if there is a spare cover. Also, I can confirm that the 125 top end will not fit on to the cases of the 100 engine, the DT100 is a different crankcase to the 125. The 125's and 175's share the same crankcases.

Why do things the easy way, when with a bit of effort you can really make it difficult for yourself!!

Yeah... sort of...
The DT and MX/YZ frames are basically the same, but the seat mountings are quite different. This means that you have to cut away a fair bit of the MX side covers (up where they tuck behind the top frame rails) to get them to fit.
And yes, the mounts are different, but that's easy to deal with. I used a pipe clamp, a 6mm bolt and a couple of nyloc nuts on my DT175 racer.

Also, the MX/YZ pipe runs outside of the rear shock, so there's an ugly lump in the LHS side cover that's not needed if you stick with the DT pipe. Getting hold of an MX or YZ pipe is good for performance... Has Davey Crocket got a spare stock pipe?

Oh, wait. Your frame has the curvy frame tubes between the swing arm pivot and the top shock mounts, which might make life harder.

The good thing about telling the truth is that you don't have to remember what you said.

NO.
the bolt patterns/spacings are much smaller on the DT100 than what they are on the 125/175 and the stroke is slighlty shorter as well.
it'd need a bit of work and ain't quite as simple as i'd like.
welcome to the Yamaha fold Doc 8)

Thanks for the insight Nathan and Vandy. I don't know what to do with it yet but I'm sure once I start tripping over it the garage I'll have some type of inspiration :P it's tucked away at mums with a multitude of other oddball orphans such as the G5, K15 and the GTS185MX twin..another project I need to finish just to prove to myself it can be done and prove everyone else was right in it being too gutless and too heavy! Like the little DT it could still be a lot of fun riding it :D
