1973 Husky

Picked up rough needing to be saved October 1973 complianced 250 husky but not sure of model,can someone fill me in what were the major differences between the Cr & Wr huskys in this era, eg suspension pipes gearing etc, also has small number which looks like engine number riveted onto cases, were the numbers stamped on motor on these earlier models or just held on with rivets, number is 2026-0517. Also doesn't have a seat or base, what models or does anyone know of complete reproduction that would be suitable for this bike, also good husky web link would be helpful, cheers

Lozza, you are probably right and im a glutten for punishment, wanted to get an earlier suzuki but between you and quicky, youve already closed the market

Rosco, have you sorted this out yet, the huskyclub.com site reveals that your weapon, with eng no beginning with 2026, is in fact a 1973 250 WR/RT. The CR250 eng no begins with 2028, and the WR with 2032. So yours is/was a road/trail with stainless guards, originally had lights ( or if not, should be fitted with lighting coils in the ignition ), and was most likely fitted with an Amal carb. Should be plenty of info about, but quite a rare bird all the same, enjoy your quest !

Thanks GD, havent looked at it yet just sprayed with lots of inox and left in the corner, to many projects on the go at once, will get to it one day though, orange and chrome bubble shape tank is bit different and needs a good molasses dunk,amal carb is fitted but have never researched this model, rare bird, might have to save it for vinduro, if i can ever get pictures sorted, ill get one up
