There seems to be something really weird about this bike. On any given day it's a 2k bike yet the last time it was offered nobody bid on it. Then the seller relisted it with $799 Buy it Now yet one bidder has bid it up from the $450 starting price to the current $700. You'd think that if he really wanted it he'd have bought it with the $799 buy it now price. '74 OSSA Phantoms are rare enough but Desert Phantoms are extraordinarily rare and for $799 for a runner, it's the bargain of the year! I want to bid on it but little 'Mr Alarm Bell' living at the back of my sub concious is sounding off his warning siren. :o

Yes Firko I noticed this bike last time it was listed.Do you think things are so depressed in the market over there that this is just one of those bargains that are beginning to appear and sellers are pricing things for quick sales?Do you think the shabby appearance is turning off a few would be buyers?Hope you win it.It's the first one I've ever seen.

Graeme, the Buy it Now option automatically goes once somebody makes a bid. The opening bid was $450 and it was then bid up to $700. If the bloke really wants it he should have used the 'Buy it Now' option and grabbed it for $799 instead of bidding it up in increments to $700. I've made a bid that substantially tops his last bid so if he wants it he's going to have to pay a fair bit more than the Buy it Now was. Like I said, something's a little odd here. I'll be in New Zealand when the auction comes up so I won't be making any more bids. Weird. ???
