That indeed was Kel (God knows how old he is) I remember him from the mid seventies and he was old then. He gave me a ride of his CCM at the old Coldstream track. It had so much torque that I dont remember changing gear. I do remember my forearms pumping up after 1 lap. Had a good chat to him (not sure if he remembered me) and he explained that he had gone back to Sweden for a while and competed there before coming back to OZ. Says he has built a few Monark frames in his spare time. The guys a legend

What a day! First race for 35 years. Also first time I've ridden the bike and first time I've used right side shifting. Greasy track, off camber corners and bike not running below half throttle due to incorrect jetting (started first time on thursday). Peter Schoene rolled up and sorted carby (Thanks Pete!) Bike then running well. Only problem then was lack of rider ability. None the less I pressed on and despite being seperated from the bike a couple of times my confidence increased as the track dried.I think I was last in every race but I don't care because I was out there having a go. Thanks to EMMCC for their efforts and all the people who said g'day and offered help on the day and made me feel welcome. Cheers Jerry Bultaco #51

Hi Jerry - I think you were parked next to us.. that Bultaco of yours is mint.  You definitely picked a challenging track & conditions to make your comeback on!

I had my first ride back in 12 months.. I really should have gone for a practice prior to racing - I did 6 races and I'm feeling it now!  I was a bit lost in the first race - really tricky conditions.  Tim37 had it dialled on that little orange Italian thing though..  ;D  I improved a bit as the day went on.  The bike was feeling it too - cracked the expansion chamber in the first race.  Ended up getting hosed up the hills due to no bottom end power for the remaining races...   ???  Oh well, me & bike should be ready to roll for the next one.

Big thanks to EMMCC & all the volunteers for putting this meeting on.. it's always a great round to ride at.

Yes I am Tim, I'm the slow one  ;D

The big 490 will definitely be the weapon of choice for Boagy's, you rarely see Maico 490s in Vic so it would be good to see it out there.  If its muddy you could ride the Villa again!
