Graeme,

If my failing memory serves me correct, wasn't there also a 2 or 3 hour motocross at Maleny involving teams of 2 or iron-man in around 1980?  Any one?  Any one?

Don't know that I can recall that one. Do you mean at Conondale or the other track, what was it... Stanmore Park? There was an endurance race at Toowoomba I think, can't remember now but I think that was MX. That one lasted for quite a few years too I believe.

There was a lot of local MX and DT back in the late 70s/early 80s. The old Dirt Track races at Tivoli, Kedron, Kingaroy and so on, plus MX just about everywhere. Around my home town we had races at Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Miriamvale, Mothar Mountain at Gympie and so on. Plus with the enduros and black events and you could race nearly every weekend in that part of the world.

Ahhh... the good old black enduro/pony express races. All those guys racing like Roger Sover and his mate Richard Sole...

I just remember it as Maleny. It was on a relatively steep hillside; we started at the top and rode down into a valley and then worked our way back up.  It was an open meeting with ACUQ (as it was then) sanction.  I remember the events at Tivoli including Mr MX rounds.

Thanks for that.  At least I'm not totally senile.  But I can't even remember who I rode with, let alone who else was in the race.  Lots of fun, tho (but).

Michael, you're a nice young bloke and I'm stoked that someone your age is interested in old bikes but could you please start using capital letters, full stops ending actual sentences and commas and apostrophes where needed? I imagine it's accepted  to use such grammar when texting but on a forum post it makes it bloody hard to decipher what you're actually talking about without any punctuation.

I'm not telling you this for the sake of laying shit, I'm doing it so more of us can understand your posts. Mate, you've only just left school so you surely must remember what the English teachers taught you?

Hey Michael, its ok i can read ya. ;) now grass hooper......

if You really wanna piss em off Jus ChucK in  hole Pile of Random CapS, shorten stuff to Text Talk m8 and for goodmeasure run your sentances on for as long as you can and only stuff in a comma when you run our of breathe,  if you really want to drive them to grey or just Pulling there hair out out, slip in some double ups ups of the same worrd or letta and the pis 'the risitance put spaces in where no sp ace is need ed.  :D  :D   :D   :D

oooo and a few too many emoticons always add to the Vibe..............
