just paid for a 1972 cz400 yellow tanker.needs resto.will arrive end of january birthday present for me.
cant put pics up i will ask paul to post for me
how i have 2
1973 250 radial 5 speed
1972 400  4 speed

I'm sure it will be worth the effort ;) 8). I'll give ya a go of me VB360 when its finished if ya givus a go of ya 400 :P :).

update on my project.
finaly arived from usa.pulled motor apart to find water had been sitting in the motor and as you can see in the pics a lot of dust.
what was salvagable
head
barrell
crank new rod kit comming
crankcases
frame good swing arm even moves freely now after soaking in oil
wheels are good ok for race bike
forks will come up ok
shocks still have dampening on rebound.
motoplat ignition????
have ordered enough parts to repair.
at least i will have a new motor to start with.

Jim what abound the gear set and clutch,were they affected by the water.Was it cost effective to source this bike from the U.S. and get it shipped?

i will let you know when i am finished.
380.00 usd was to replace all the rusty gears and primary drives
but since i have found a complete 400 bottom end for 125.00 us so thats comming as well.
you cant have enough spares

fired up the 400 today very rich at the moment but it runs and not to bad considering all the fuel that is being pored into the bike via a 38mm mikuni and 310 main.now the real fun begins jetting.i have some pics buy have no idea how to post

thanks for posting the pics firko.
almost ready any way husy parts is making a new carby to air filter rubber.i gave him an old airbox so he can make a mould.just a few minor things it started after about 15 kicks.turned it off then started 2nd kick.now gack on the stand fuel drained and ready to tinker with air box jetting and kill switch
