I'm looking for a bike for one of my boys to race the "Junior Trail bike" class for dirt track. He currently runs in the 65's and a run in this class I reckon will help with confidence when getting off an old bike and back onto his modern, plus just more track time. Also the ACTMCC has just introduced a $70 family cap for race day so I plan on having all 3 boys in 2 classes each just to get my monies worth
He has said that he would not be embarrassed as long as it is fairly tidy because he would be running with new bikes.
The rule book says xr70 or jr80 (how do they go together??) along with others but I'm sure there would not be a problem if he turned up on an old XR80 or maybe an early DS80 around 1980'ish twin shock. (The problem will only arise if he starts smashing them and I don't think that will happen)
Has any one got a decent mini in the shed they would like to part with?
