I bow to your Knowledge Graeme but wouldn't a DT1 full width hub be a bit better on Nathans project? I've been told by cluier folks than me that the DT1 hub went back to the early sixties as well....I'm not sure if that's true but if it is it'd be a better choice than those pissy AT1 gizmos.
Each to his own but I would err to lightweight and suspension compliance, especially on the front.
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure the DT hub is unique to the DT and started with the DT. Yammy used a sl shoe brake as seen in the above Ascot racer but this was a 7in brake and was a version of the 7in YDS/YM tl shoe brake.
If it was gonna be an MXer I would go the AT1. If it was gonna be a DTer I would go the 7in sl or tl.
