Frame material of 81 CR??

I have 2 Husky frames, a 77 CR250 and an 81 CR125. I don't have a scale to hang them from but the 81 frame feels like it is twice the weight of the 77. I mean really, really heavy.
Did they switch to mild steel in 81?

No way. Frame will be 4130 CrMo for sure. The 81 frame will be bigger than the 77 I imagine so have more steel. Check tube diameters - maybe 77 uses smaller dia tubing? Cheers

Second top tube instead of a short bar to hang the electrics from and slightly thicker metal, but man what a difference in weight!
