Middle age happiness
« on: May 06, 2009, 09:40:40 am »
Nervously I'm pressing buttons without any supervision (my wife and kids are'nt home!). If anyone is interested I'm restoring and hopefully will race a MK 3 Pursang in the last 2 rounds of the VCM series in Victoria later this year. I am 51 years old and work and am employed as a Paramedic in the Yarra Valley area. I have been reading the OZVMX site for about 12 months so I thought I had better stand up and be counted. Cheers Jerry

Welcome Jerry !!!

Come on !!! If you are planning on racing you are going to have to put your foot down and show the missus who is boss (her) and after that ask here nicely for permission to enjoy yourself before it's too late. Tell her it's good for your fitness and a good release for all the shit you encounter on the job etc etc. Besides it's a good activity to get her involved in and she can flag, lol !

I'm also 51 and having the BEST years of my life - honest. But then I'm separated lol !!! Nah, really the new lady is behind me 100% (actually so was my old one to be honest) so I make the most of things.

Firey's rule !

Being a Para makes you a pretty handy fella to have around the pits Jerry. ;), especially at a vintage meeting! Congratualtions on defying current trends and building a pre '70 class bike, we need all we can get to keep the class alive. Welcome to the forum.
