Calvin Brewster! I remember watching him in Juniors.
Small bloke, very fast and we could see he'd be a threat when he arrived in C grade .
He always wore brown and white riding gear... not sure why I remember that other than I'd never seen it before or since.
I'm sure the last time I saw him he crashed on the main straight at Stanmore - and broke his femur I think.

MC, sorry about going off your thread a tad, but these are names I'd almost forgotten - thanks for stirrin' the memories!

Correct wombat. Calvin was always fast but had many injuries.

JohnnyO - I will see if I can hunt the photo out a set of quads with what looks like a power pole beside it at Tivoli, the rider is just below the level where the ceramic cups are on the cross arms on the pole. Big air for the day.
What were you racing at the time or were you a spectator?

Wasn't it Darren Smart that was the first to do the quads? I think it was the time he rode a four stroke as well. Might have been another time. I remember them taking the sign down that was hanging across the quads as they were getting close to it.

Brad i think Smarty and Brewster jumped them the same race meeting and yes Smarty was on a DR400.
MC i was racing a CR450 in A grade probably against your brother.

JohnnyO - the rider was a C grader on an RM 400, as he recalls, he can't remember his name but said it was good and bad, reason being that once a C grader was clearing them then the A graders were looking at each other sayn "OH Shit" he also said the quads at Tivoli sent a heap of riders off to Hospital, very steep and big!

He was racing the day Stu died and said she was a big crash, also said that he and Stephen Gall commented a few years ago that Stu was one of the fastest and could have gone all the way (on a world stage) but wasn't fit and when the track cut up could be riden down, but was quite clear on how tough it was to stay with him.
Al had a ride with Moto Sport Yamaha on a YZ 250 G, then got offered a ride with Annan & Thompson on a YZ 465, he was on the 465 when he broke his back in 81.
