Can I use bit from this for my engine???
« on: May 07, 2009, 06:02:19 pm »
Just wondering if parts out of this engine, mainly the crank assembly along with the gearbox and clutch will fit in my TMS125 project Im building?

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=216399072

I have a NOS set of cases and want to fit these bits into the new stuff......along with the TM stuff on the way ;D

Let me know what will and wont fit.

Cheers

Andy

The head and barrel and throw the rest away. That TF cylinder will be ideal to practice your porting on.

No fit. You can use TC parts from the same era as yours, these TF agi bike engines are a later design, Of course you could practise your porting skills on the barr.........  :)

I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

It is apparently an early 4 stud head model, 5 speed. I was / am hoping the guts, ie the crank, gearbox and clutch are compatible for mt old 72 TS125. I'll have a look at it this avo as it is only a few kms away from my place. I dont know if the bits will fit or not......

Anyone had any experience with these????

Mate next to nothing will cross over , spark plug , front sprocket , conrod assembly and piston & rings and maybe a couple of bearings and seals .

Why dont you come to Taupo and i will show you what fits and what dont .
I have about 8 of those motors and 6 of the early TS , TC motors , and no there not for sale at the moment  :)

Make a time and you can see 1st hand for yourself the differences,I will show you TM motors so you can see what you want to do with your TS  cheers Bill.
