Will it work ?
« on: May 01, 2009, 03:17:07 pm »
I am  contemplating fitting a twin piston nissin brake system to my Husky, the question I have is,
The caliper is floating (was oem to a non floating disc) and the disc is floating (oem the a fixed caliper)
would there be any problems fitting a floating caliper to a floating disc???

late model jap bikes eg. YZ450F use a floating caliper on a floating disc(the type with the buttons between the two pieces)

not real sure if that is relevant to your application?

how much FLOAT is in your disc compered to the yamaha disc?you wouldnt want the pistons coming out of the caliper or worst still like twisting in the caliper and jamming on the brake!!maybe a spacer in the caliper float pins would fix the float problem down to one.
