Woohoo, great pics ! Who's that chasing Smithy in the second shot, is it Don Rickman on the Triumph Metisse ? Love the sibling shot on the bangers, too. Keep 'em coming.... ;D

Is there anybody local that sells the Rickman Story by Dave Gittens? I looked it up and could only find the following. The Rickman Story by Dave Gittins costs £20 plus £2 p&p. It is available from the author at High Beeches, Huntercombe Lane South, Taplow, Maidenhead, Berks SL6 0PQ; tel/fax 01628 605858. Nothing came up on Ebay.

I also reckon that it's Ray Fisher outside Easty in the above shot. The numbers are wrong and too amateurish for somebody with such an eye for detail as Don Rickman. I believe the very Metisse Eastys riding in the photo will be on show at the Bonanza. He raced it in vintage motocross until he got too sick to race any more. It is one quick old bike. He was a nice old bloke who was still fast even when he had Parkinsons disease. Ray Fisher is equally a nice old guy and still has a couple of Metisses which I'm sure he'll have at the Bonanza.

I reckon that is Don Rickman chasing Smith in the second shot. He normally use #74 so the meeting must be an International where they used FIM numbers rather than ACU. Smithy appears to be on the titanium Victor GP so it must be 1966.

Smith, Don Rickman and Vic Eastwood were the England team for the 1966 MX des Nations, so that would probably account for the number sequencing. They won it, by the way.... ;)

#31 Jeff Smith, #29 Don Rickman at the British Grand Prix 1966... Farleigh Castle.
