Nice bike and someone had a bargain there, even by current crisis hit UK prices. The C designation solely meant 'competition', and was applied to both the 500 and 650 bikes. Both had single carbs, variations on engine tuning from the Bonneville and Daytona models respectively, and high pipes, with a choice of standard or wide-ratio gearboxes. Different versions were offered for East and West Coast US distributors, with the West Coast bikes a little more set up desert work, but back then this might have meant something as simple as a different width rear tyre or larger final drive sprocket.
