« on: March 20, 2009, 09:15:51 pm »
G'day to fellow enthusiasts.
Although I'm new to the forum thing My family was heavily involved in the "Golden Years" of motorcycle racing in & around Syd, NSW from 60's to 80's.
My background is in Short Curcuit and Speedway.
I have several bikes that I intend to restore,
Inc - Rotrax Jap ( Speedway )
     - Speedway Jawa ( 2valve )
     - Hagon Sandracer Jawa or Jap
     - Elstar 350 BSA, as built by renowned tuner Norm Askew in 1968
ridden by Dirt Track Legend - Billy Mac and Speedway Cult Figure Carl Askew and me.
I have been away from the competition scene for a long time but am keen to get back and compete.
Steve.

Gidday Curly and welcome on board.
Never got around to actually riding Speedway or Short Circuit back in the day - and still regret that.
It's a ballsy discipline!
Fond memories of watching as a young fella though (had to talk Mum into taking me).

Still love watching the Speedway; the Pay Telly regularly shows the International series from Europe.
I'm sure there's a few Speedway fellas on the Forum with a wealth of knowledge.
Love to see some photos if you're able.
